In July 2019 I had the honor of designing and creating a custom wedding gown for my beautiful mother using lace elements from her late mother's wedding dress. With the lace in mind, I chose soft and elegant fabrics to compliment: a silk crepe with a silk chiffon overlay that would allow the lace to really shine! My grandmother's legacy has played such a huge role in my growth as a seamstress and designer so getting to honor her and my mother through this project was the most incredible experience; through it, we managed to create a piece that perfectly captured my mother's spirit and style, and carried a bit of her mother's touch.
